#13 – Become a Mentor

The decision to be a mentor does not need be based only on what you give to the relationship; you will benefit professionally while mentoring others. Mentors find that they often advance professionally themselves while being in a mentor/mentee relationship. Many large companies offer mentoring programs formally though being a mentor doesn’t have to be under the umbrella of a large program. Informal programs are popular in small, medium and large sized businesses.

Ask yourself these questions;

1) Do you have expertise to share with an up and coming professional?

2) Are you an expert in your industry?

3) Do you enjoy coaching and mentoring others?

If so you may want to consider investigating some mentoring opportunities.
