The New York Times had an article on Sunday about Executive Coaching that I though you would like. It was a relatively unfiltered Q&A with Eilene Zimmerman who answered the tough questions that many of my clients ask. What are some reasons people use Executive Coaching? What happens during a coaching session? What is the cost? What concrete results can coaching accomplish?, etc.
A few of the quotes from the article that struck me include;
- “Professionals enlist coaches to accelerate their careers, getting help with things like making decisions, cultivating a presence and achieving self awareness.” Eilene Zimmerman
- “For mid-level professionals, a coach can help identify what needs to be done to reach the executive level.” Eilene Zimmerman
- “Not everyone’s goal, however, is to get to the C-suite. A lot of executives just want to do their jobs better and happier” Glo Harris
