Manager Training Series
Great management isn't a talent. It's a skill.
There's this sneaky idea that goes around the business world that says that some people are either "management material" or they're not. The truth is, everyone is "management material" -- with the right training and practice. That's where I come in.
Join me for my Manager Training Series and let's develop your management skills, together.
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
You'll join me and a small, select cohort of other managers for 8 weeks of classes. (I keep each cohort deliberately small so you can get the level of personalized attention and interaction that make for a great training experience.) Every person in the cohort will be currently working at a small to medium-sized business, and manage at least one direct report.
Together, we'll cover all the areas you need to set a strong foundation for leaders spanning the entire employee lifecycle from recruitment skills all the way to employee relations and exit interviews.
THAT INCLUDES...
Setting your Management Vision and Tone - a north star and filter specific to you as a manager
Workforce Communications - What to communicate to the entire workforce in writing or verbally and what’s better for one-on-one meetings.
Performance Management - Learn how to manage employee performance effectively.
Exceptional Employee Relations - There is a format to manage employee relations situations that will leave you feeling more confident when a situation arises.
Attract and Select Top Talent - Techniques to attract and equitably select top talent, yes, even in today’s tough market.
Essential Coaching Skills for Leaders - This is the key to unlocking performance for those who want to out-perform on your team. Coaching is next-level management.
THE DETAILS:
Classes are held once per week over the course of 8 weeks. All classes will be held via Zoom in 2025. The first session is 2 hours, all subsequent sessions are 1 hour.
Cohorts consist of participants from a variety of small businesses. Cohorts are always small groups to promote participant synergy.
A focus on cross-pollinating ideas with other small business participants.
Includes 40-minute 1:1 coaching session with facilitator, Amy McGeachy, PHR, SHRM-CP
You'll walk away confident in your management, and well-equipped to lead yourself, your team, and your organization through whatever comes along in the next years of business!

Client Testimonial Video
The Manager Training Series was an influential program. It focused us to think about the how and why we lead, our motivations, and understanding the needs of both us as managers and our staffs. I learned effective communications strategies, building impactful meeting agendas and crafted my own personal leadership action plan. Some of the biggest takeaways were around nurturing one-on-one relationships and accountability.
- Mark K., Marketing Director at Portland Timbers
This was a valuable training to allow me the space and time to think about my own skills and better set me up for success as a new manager.
- Anita M., Art Director at Dark Horse Comics
I wasn't sure what to expect in this Management Training Series, however I really feel like I came out of it more prepared for whatever I face down the road as a leader. This helped me determine and appreciate my strong points as a leader and also find and strengthen my weaknesses. I learned so much from both Amy and my colleagues and am grateful to have been a part of this group.
- Ali V., Director of Member Services at Portland Timbers
The Manager Training Series equipped me with some very effective tools for being an effective manager that I never even knew I needed! I now feel more confident as a leader and as a general communicator, and have found myself continuing to reflect on many of the concepts that we discussed in the training. Highly recommended for any professional in a leadership role!
- Rikki M., Manager at Dark Horse Comics
Amy's Manager Training Series was very valuable in my growth as a manager. She covers a wide range of challenges that managers face in the workplace in an engaging way.

I have really been enjoying the training and I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn from others and the space to brain-dump on management. Amy brings so much to the table from her experience!
- Samantha M., Director at a nonprofit organization
The series takes you through different scenarios, all culminating in a well-rounded experience for a manager of any level. At times it's hard to toss my endorsement around, but I whole-heartedly believe in this series making any manager at any level better for taking it. I will be using the lessons Amy provided me until the day I retire and because of the course, I look forward to helping improve my team every day.
- Ruben D., Senior Director Social Content and Strategy at Portland Timbers
Amy’s management training is packed with tons of helpful information, tools and best practices to help sharpen your people management skills. If you manage or want to manage people, I recommend this series!
